Overview

Opened in 1947, Mel’s Drive-In was originally made famous by George Lucas’ 1973 film American Graffiti and was also used as a location in the 1967 film Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, starring Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn.  Most recently the restaurant was in the 2011 movie HOP.  Mel’s Drive-Ins are located on site at Universal Studios Orlando, Japan and Los Angeles and remain the highest traffic food establishments in the parks.

Building on this iconic brand, MIKE Licensing developed a retail licensing program around the Mel’s Drive-In brand in multiple categories including tin signs, condiments/seasonings, cheesecakes and toy model kits
